December 13, 2024 – Tsinghua University’s School of Journalism and Communication is proud to announce the launch of the THU-USC Global Science Communication Dual Master’s Degree Program (THU-USC) in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI). This innovative dual-degree program offers students a unique opportunity to pursue advanced education at two of the world’s leading institutions in journalism and media communication, combining cultural perspectives and interdisciplinary learning.
This program addresses the growing need for skilled professionals equipped to navigate the complexities of a global media environment and lead in the fields of communication, media management, and public engagement.

Program Structure and Benefits
Applicants interested in the Dual Master’s Degree Program will first apply to Tsinghua University’s Dual Degree Program. Admitted students will begin their studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing, undertaking the Master of Journalism and Communication in their first year. In the second year, students will transition to NTU in Singapore to pursue the Master of Media and Communication. The program concludes with the completion of their dissertation at Tsinghua University.
Graduates of this program will gain expertise in key areas such as business journalism, strategic communication, media governance, public engagement, and data analytics, supported by cutting-edge theoretical and practical knowledge. Students will also benefit from international immersion opportunities in global hubs, including France, the USA, and Australia, preparing them to thrive in diverse cultural and economic contexts and emerge as leaders in the communication industry.

The collaboration integrates NTU’s highly regarded Master of Media and Communication (MMC) program, which offers four specialised tracks: Strategic Communication, Media Policy and Public Engagement, Leadership and Transformation, and Data Technology, Platforms and Society. These tracks are designed to prepare early- to mid-career professionals to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving media landscape.
