From November 27 to 28, Professor Qing’an Zhou, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, led a delegation to visit the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and City University of Hong Kong. The visit aimed to enhance academic cooperation, foster exchanges, and advance the development of journalism and communication.

At the University of Hong Kong, Vice President Peng Gong welcomed the delegation, and discussions centered on academic collaboration. Professor Zhou delivered a lecture at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre that received enthusiastic feedback from students, while Professor Jianjun Lei’s team showcased film and documentary works from the Tsinghua side, deepening ties in film and television communication. Plans for a student film festival and cooperation in business journalism were also explored.

At Hong Kong Baptist University, the delegation reached a consensus with the School of Communication on initiatives such as building a data laboratory, exchanging faculty and students, and fostering academic collaboration.

The visit to the City University of Hong Kong included discussions on joint doctoral programs and cultivating high-level talents.
In the spring semester of 2024, Tsinghua University signed new memorandums of cooperation with the Journalism and Media Studies Centre of the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University while renewing its agreement with the City University of Hong Kong. These agreements pave the way for comprehensive collaboration in education, research, academic exchanges, and talent development, driving innovation in journalism and communication disciplines.
